BSc(hons) Zoology
MSc Environmental Science
I got involved in children’s science education at university.  I was passionate about conservation and doing my bit to try and make the world a better place.  I realised the most important part of conservation was people and through working in education, I would be working with the most precious natural resource we have.  I volunteered in schools, worked in out of school care, and ran science clubs before doing teacher training.  It wasn’t the right career choice, but still passionate about the environment and making the world a better place, so I did an MSc in Environmental Science.  I have worked for the RSPB, Eco-Schools (Scotland) and TechFest, working in education roles.  I love working in child care because you have the chance to work consistently with colleagues, children and families in fun and creative ways and see children growing in skills and confidence.  I love doing art, science, and outdoor activities with the children.  In my spare time I can either be found with my pony or doing living history events.  I think working in child care is one of the most interesting and rewarding careers and I love working with a kind, motivated and engaged team of colleagues.  I also love to have so many professional learning opportunities and am finding doing my Social Services for Children and Young People Level 3 qualification very interesting.
