Meet our fabulous Team

Our staff are our most important asset and they are the key to our continued success.

I would like to introduce you to the fabulous Team @ Scamps.

They are the front line in your children’s care and are available to speak to either at drop off or pick up time.

Ruth Gauld – Managing Director. 21st August 2012

I did my degree in Chiropody & Podiatric Medicine in 1997 before travelling extensively overseas as an expat in the oil and gas industry.

I bought Scamps in 2012 when the previous owner retired and over the last 8 years have transformed the club by adding a Before School Club and working closely with the families to provide a home from home environment for the children where they feel relaxed and comfortable in their surroundings.  Our team are some of the best in the business and bring with them a wealth of experience.

Lesley Weston – BSc(hons) Zoology
MSc Environmental Science – Practitioner. Start Date: 26th November 2018

I got involved in children’s science education at university.  I realised the most important part of conservation was people and through working in education, I would be working with the most precious natural resource we have.  I volunteered in schools, worked in out of school care, and ran science clubs before doing teacher training.  It wasn’t the right career choice, but still passionate about the environment and making the world a better place, so I did an MSc in Environmental Science.  I have worked for the RSPB, Eco-Schools (Scotland) and TechFest.  I think working in child care is one of the most interesting and rewarding careers and I love working with a kind, motivated and engaged team of colleagues.  I love doing art, science, and outdoor activities with the children.  In my spare time I can either be found with my pony or doing living history events.  I also love to have so many professional learning opportunities and am finding doing my Social Services for Children and Young People Level 3 qualification very interesting.

Robert Peattie – Childcare Support Worker. Start Date: 18th May 2020
